AESUB Scanning Sprays & Reference Targets
AESUB makes the matting sprays and reference targets that make hard-to-scan parts scannable. A thin, even coating kills the glare on shiny, dark and transparent surfaces so your scanner sees real geometry — and the self-vanishing sprays sublimate away on their own, leaving no residue to clean. From the everyday blue vanishing spray to permanent white, fine airbrush liquids and AESUBdots reference targets, this page covers the full AESUB range. US stock, authorized reseller.

Choosing a AESUB scanning sprays machine
The decisions that actually matter for this class of machine — size them to your parts, not to a spec sheet.
Vanishing vs permanent
Self-vanishing sprays (blue/green) sublimate away in hours with no cleanup — ideal for finished, assembled or delicate parts. Permanent white is for when you need the coating to stay put through a longer or repeated scan and don’t mind wiping it off.
Spray vs airbrush
The aerosol sprays are fastest for general use; the airbrush liquids give the thinnest, most controlled layer for fine detail and small parts — pair them with the AESUB green spray gun or an airbrush.
Reference targets
For tracking and alignment, AESUBdots (3 mm/6 mm) and the magnetic target net give your scanner fixed reference points; the applicator guns place dots fast and evenly, and the dice help with multi-view setups.
Which layer thickness
Thinner is better — a heavy coat adds dimension error. The vanishing sprays and airbrush liquids lay down an ultra-thin, uniform film; we can recommend the right product for your part size and scanner.

Frequently asked questions
Why do I need scanning spray?
Optical 3D scanners struggle with shiny, dark and transparent surfaces — the light bounces or passes through instead of reflecting evenly. A thin AESUB matte coating gives a uniform, diffuse surface so the scanner captures real geometry.
What does "self-vanishing" mean?
AESUB’s vanishing sprays (blue/green) sublimate — they turn from solid to gas and disappear on their own within hours, leaving no residue to clean. Great for finished, assembled or delicate parts. The white spray is permanent and wipes off.
Spray, airbrush or dots — what do I need?
Use an aerosol spray for fast general matting, an airbrush liquid (with a gun or airbrush) for the thinnest controlled layer on detail parts, and AESUBdots/targets for tracking and alignment references. We can put together the right kit for your scanner.
Do you stock AESUB in the US?
Yes — AESUB sprays, liquids, guns and targets ship from US stock. Rev1 is an authorized AESUB reseller with US-based support. Call (248) 707-2950.
