How to choose

How to choose a CreatBot filament

Match the material to the part’s job — temperature, load and finish — then to the printer that can run it.

Operating temperature

If the part sees heat or steam, step up: PLA/PETG for room-temp prototypes, PC/ASA for warm environments, and PEEK/PEKK/ULTEM for continuous high-temperature, chemical and autoclave service.

Strength & stiffness

For load-bearing or dimensionally-critical parts, carbon-filled (CF) grades add the most stiffness and a clean finish; glass-filled (GF) grades trade some stiffness for impact toughness.

Printer capability

High-temp grades need the hardware to match — PEEK/PEKK/ULTEM run on the 480 °C PEEK-250/300; filled nylons and PC run on the HS and Ultra machines. We’ll confirm your machine can run a grade before you buy.

Supports & finish

For overhangs and internal channels, pair the model material with PVA (dissolvable) or a break-away support so complex geometry comes off clean.

Frequently asked questions

Which CreatBot filament for high-temp / PEEK parts?

The PEEK family — PEEK, PEEK-CF, PEEK-GF and PEI 1010 (ULTEM) — printed on the PEEK-250 or PEEK-300. For filled nylons and PC, the Ultra PA-CF / PA-GF and PC run on the HS and Ultra machines.

Are CreatBot printers open-material?

Yes — every CreatBot runs standard 1.75 mm filament with no chips or cartridges. CreatBot's own line ships with validated print profiles, but you can run any supplier's material.

What diameter and spool sizes?

All CreatBot filaments are 1.75 mm. Most are 1 kg spools; PVA ships in 0.5 kg and the TPU in 0.8 kg.

Carbon-fiber vs glass-fiber — which do I need?

Carbon-fiber (CF) adds the most stiffness and the best surface finish; glass-fiber (GF) is tougher and more impact-resistant at lower cost. Both reduce warp versus unfilled polymers.
