The firmware update process differs depending on which firmware your machine runs.
Marlin based printers will need to be updated via USB connection to the machine itself. You should have received a USB-A to USB-B cable with your machine. It will need to be connected to the port on the backside of your printer, and connected to a PC with access to the slicer. A firmware update file will be needed and must be provided by Creatbot for your specific machine based on serial number. Please send an email to [email protected] with a picture of your silver serial number sticker for the fastest turnaround. Then, access the firmware update tool within the slicer, load the firmware file, and flash the printer. Marlin based machines include: D600, D600 Pro, D600 Pro 2, F1000, PEEK-300, PEEK-250, F430, Some early variants of the F430-NX.
Klipper based machines including the F430-NX, D600 Pro 2 HS, D1000 Pro HS are updated by connecting the machine itself to an internet source via it's ethernet port or by Wifi. Note that depending on your network configurations and restrictions, the machine may not be able to reach the Creatbot servers and it may be required to connect it to an alternate source such as a cell phone hotspot for the duration of the update. Once connected, locate the update tool in the system settings. Click the refresh button to have the system reach out and check for updates. Then select the "Update all" option. If updates are available to update, but do not automatically install with the update all command, you may individually update them by clicking the update buttons. Note: These updates need to be done in a specific order to prevent comparability issues. Moonraker should be updated first, followed by Mainsail, followed by Klipper itself. Once those three are installed, you are free to install any remaining updates.
Klipper based machines starting with the D1000 Pro 2 HS and D600 Pro 3 HS currently require manual loading of software updates. Software updates may be acquired from CreatBot directly, placed onto a USB flash drive, and then updated in the maintenance menu found in the machine settings. Automatic machine updates are planned to arrive at a later time and will likely need a final manual update to enable the function.
