Signs an X/Y belt needs replacing
The print steps sideways partway up (a layer shift).
Ringing or echo patterns appear after corners.
Parts measure correctly in one axis but not the other.
The belt has a cracked back, frayed edges or teeth that are worn smooth.
Before you replace the belt, check that the pulley set screws are tight. A slipping pulley can mimic a worn belt.
Compatible CreatBot 3D printer
The smaller PEEK-250 uses its own X/Y axis belt, part 142002. The Z axis on the PEEK-300 uses a separate belt.
Tension and inspection
Check the X and Y belts as part of routine maintenance. Both should feel equally firm, track centered on their pulleys and show no cracking when you flex them. If one belt is clearly worse than the other, replace both: equal tension on X and Y helps keep parts square.
Installation tips
Make sure the chamber and hotend are cool, then power off and unplug the printer. Take a photo of the belt path and end clamps. Route the new belt the same way, seat it fully on the pulley, set the tension and run the axis by hand to confirm smooth travel. Home the printer and print a calibration square to confirm accuracy.
