PEEK-300 Glass Build Plate
The CreatBot PEEK-300 glass plate (part 107015) is the OEM glass build surface for the CreatBot PEEK-300 3D printer. Glass is a popular build surface because it is flat and smooth: it gives an even first layer across the whole bed and leaves a glossy finish on the underside of the part. Signs the glass plate needs replacing
A chip, crack or missing corner, even outside the area you normally print on.
Pitting or small craters where parts pulled glass away as they released.
First layers that will not stick in one spot no matter how well you clean it.
Never keep printing on a cracked glass plate. Cracks can spread during heating and cooling, and a broken plate can damage the nozzle.
Compatible CreatBot 3D printer
CreatBot also offers a carbon fiber plate for the PEEK-300 (107016). Other models use their own build surfaces, for example the F430 PEI film (107007) and the F1000 PEI film (107022).
Glass or carbon fiber?
Both plates fit the PEEK-300. Glass gives a very flat, smooth surface and a glossy bottom finish. The carbon fiber plate is an alternative surface if you prefer a different finish or adhesion behavior for a given material. Many users keep one of each so they can switch plates to suit the job, and so a spare is ready if one is damaged.
Installation tips
Let the bed cool completely before you touch the glass: hot glass is easy to crack with uneven pressure. Lift the old plate off, clean the bed underneath, then lower the new plate into the same position and secure it as the original was secured. Re-level the bed and run a first layer test. Clean glass with isopropyl alcohol and never use a metal scraper on its edges.
