It grips the filament and drives it into the hotend, and on a printer built for PEEK and PEI it does that with stiff, demanding materials over long print times. Signs the extruder unit needs replacing
Clicking, skipping or grinding from the extruder.
Thin walls, gaps or poor layer bonding that continue after the nozzle is cleaned.
Filament with heavy gear marks, or filament ground away at the drive gear.
A cracked or bent component after a jam, crash or rough handling.

Compatible CreatBot 3D printer
The PEEK-250 has its own extruder unit, part 183003. D Series printers also use different units, such as the D600 Pro2 HS (183007) and D1000 HS (183009).
Installation tips
Unload filament with the hotend at temperature. Switch off and unplug the printer, then let the print head and chamber cool fully; high temperature machines stay hot for some time. Photograph the connectors and cable routing, swap the unit using the original hardware and reconnect everything as photographed. Load filament, run a manual extrusion test, re-check nozzle height and print a short calibration part before a long PEEK job. If your PEEK-300 is under warranty, contact Rev1 before starting.
