Signs the extruder cable needs replacing
Hotend temperature that wanders, drops out or triggers a fault.
The hotend does not reach its target temperature with a good heater installed.
Extruder motor stalls, skipping or buzzing without feeding filament.
Hardened, cracked or discolored insulation, or browned connector pins.
A printer that runs high temperature materials puts more heat stress on cabling near the print head than one that runs PLA. Inspect the cable whenever you service the hotend, and replace it at the first sign of heat damage.

Installation tips
Power the printer off, unplug it and allow the hotend and chamber to cool completely before you reach inside. Photograph and label every connector. Route the new cable along the original path and use the same clips and tie points so it cannot touch hot surfaces. Reconnect, heat the hotend, confirm a stable reading and extrude a short test length before resuming production.
