PTC chamber heater for the CreatBot PEEK-250
The CreatBot PEEK-250 heating PTC (part 173007) is the chamber heater for the CreatBot PEEK-250. On a printer designed for PEEK and other high performance polymers, the heated chamber is not optional. High temperature materials shrink strongly as they cool, and a part printed in a cold enclosure will crack between layers, curl off the bed or end up with poor layer bonding. Signs the chamber heater needs replacing
The chamber no longer reaches its set temperature, or the warm-up takes much longer than before.
The PEEK-250 reports a heater fault.
PEEK or PEI parts begin delaminating or cracking on settings that worked before.

Why a PTC heater
PTC stands for positive temperature coefficient. The element's resistance climbs as it heats, so its power draw drops as it approaches its working temperature. That self-limiting behavior is why PTC heaters are used to warm enclosed chambers.
Installation tips
Turn the PEEK-250 off, unplug it and allow the chamber to cool completely, which takes longer on a high temperature machine than on a standard printer. Photograph the heater wiring before removal, fit the new heater in the same orientation, and make sure the leads are secured away from moving parts. Run chamber heating once and watch it come up to temperature before you start a PEEK job.
