Why the switching bearing matters
A smooth bearing lets the mechanism complete each switch fully, so the idle nozzle does not drag across the print.
A worn bearing adds play, which can show up as inconsistent nozzle height between the two extruders.
A two material job can switch nozzles hundreds of times. The mechanism needs to move the same way every time.

Installation tips
Power the printer off and let both hotends cool fully before working on the toolhead. Photograph the switching mechanism before you take it apart, and keep track of small fasteners. After fitting the new bearing, move the mechanism through its travel by hand to check it is free, then run a nozzle switch and check the height of both nozzles before a dual material print.
