Signs the reduction gear needs replacing
The extruder clicks, skips or slips under load while the nozzle is clear.
Under-extrusion that does not improve after cleaning the drive and checking the hotend.
Worn, chipped or missing gear teeth, or noise from the extruder that was not there before.

Gear only, or the complete set?
This listing is the reduction gear on its own. CreatBot also supplies the related bearings separately: the reduction gear bearing (124010) and the flange bearing (124011). If the bearings are rough or the whole assembly is worn, the complete set with bearings (124008) replaces everything in one step. When only the gear teeth are worn and the bearings turn smoothly, this part is enough.
Installation tips
Turn the printer off, let the hotend cool and unload the filament. Open the extruder and photograph the gear train before you take it apart, so the new gear goes back in the same orientation. Check the bearings while the assembly is open. After reassembly, load filament and extrude a test length to confirm smooth, even feeding.
