The CreatBot F430 Y-axis reduction belt (part 141005) is the OEM belt for the reduction stage of the Y axis drive on the CreatBot F430. In a belt reduction, a short belt links the motor to a larger pulley before motion reaches the main axis belt. The reduction gives the motor more leverage over the axis and finer control of each step. Signs the reduction belt needs replacing
Cracking, fraying or damaged teeth on the short belt near the Y motor.
Layer shifts in the Y direction, even though the main Y belt looks good.
A ticking or skipping sound from the Y drive during fast moves.
Slack in the reduction stage that cannot be taken up with adjustment.
Why the reduction belt matters
Small belts on a reduction stage wrap tightly around small pulleys and carry the full drive load, so they can wear before the main belt does. If you have replaced the main Y belt and still see Y problems, the reduction belt is a good next place to look.
Compatible CreatBot 3D printer
The main F430 Y axis belt is a separate part, 141001. The F430 X axis uses part 141002.
Installation tips
Power off and unplug the printer. Photograph the reduction stage, including the motor pulley, the larger driven pulley and how the motor mount adjusts. Loosen the motor mount or tensioner to release the belt, fit the new belt over both pulleys and restore firm tension. Turn the drive by hand to check that it runs smoothly, then home the printer and print a test part to confirm the Y axis is accurate.
