F430 Sink Fan (Hotend Heat Sink Fan)
The CreatBot F430 sink fan (part 150014) is the OEM hotend heat sink fan for the CreatBot F430 3D printer. It keeps the heat sink above the heater block cool, so the filament stays solid until it reaches the melt zone. Signs the sink fan needs replacing
Extrusion fades or stops partway through a print.
The extruder clicks, skips or grinds the filament.
Repeated jams in the same hotend, especially on long jobs.
The sink fan is stopped, slow or noisy while the hotend is hot.
Compatible CreatBot 3D printer
The F430 also uses a print cooling fan (150015), a drive cooling fan (150016), a filter fan (150017) and a cross flow fan (150018 for 220V, 150019 for 110V). The F430 NX uses its own sink fan, part 150007.
Why heat creep shows up on enclosed printers
On an enclosed, heated chamber printer, the air the sink fan pulls in is already warm. That leaves less margin before heat creeps up past the heat break and softens the filament too early. A fan that has lost some speed with age may have been fine on day one but no longer keeps up. If jams appear on long, hot prints, check the sink fan and clean the heat sink fins before you change anything else.
Installation tips
Power the printer off and let the hotend and chamber cool completely. Note the fan direction and cable route, then fit the new fan so it blows through the heat sink fins the same way as the original. Keep the cable clear of the heater block. Heat the hotend and confirm the fan runs before you load filament.
