F430 NX Sink Fan (Hotend Heat Sink Fan)
The CreatBot F430 NX sink fan (part 150007) is the OEM heat sink fan for the hotend of the CreatBot F430 NX 3D printer. It moves air through the heat sink fins at the top of the hotend, removing heat that climbs up from the heater block. Signs the sink fan needs replacing
Prints begin well, then extrusion thins out or stops.
The extruder ticks or grinds while trying to push filament.
Filament pulled from the hotend has a swollen, mushroomed section.
The sink fan does not spin, spins slowly or makes noise when the hotend is hot.
Compatible CreatBot 3D printer
The F430 NX also uses a print cooling fan (150008) and a cross flow fan (150012 for 220V, 150013 for 110V). The original F430 uses a different sink fan, part 150014.
Keep a spare on hand
Sink fans run every time the hotend is warm, so they rack up more hours than almost any other fan on the printer. On a machine that prints daily, wear is expected. Because a stopped sink fan halts printing quickly, many F430 NX owners keep a spare in the drawer and swap it in at the first sign of noise or slowing. Clean the heat sink fins at the same time, since dust and stray filament reduce cooling just as much as a weak fan.
Installation tips
Turn the printer off and let the hotend cool completely. Note the direction the old fan faces and how its cable is routed. Fit the new fan so it pushes air through the heat sink in the same direction, keep the cable away from the heater block, then heat the hotend and confirm the fan runs before you print.
