The Z motor sets the height of every layer: after each layer it moves the Z axis by exactly one layer height, so its accuracy decides how even your layer lines are and whether a tall part stays true from the first layer to the last. Signs the Z motor needs replacing
The Z axis does not move, or moves in one direction only, when you jog it from the touchscreen.
Grinding, buzzing or clicking from the Z drive during homing or printing.
Uneven layer lines, squashed layers or a sudden step in height partway up a tall print.
The axis stalls under load or the motor runs noticeably hotter than it used to.

Compatible CreatBot 3D printer
Other D600 models use their own Z motors: the D600 Pro uses part 131023, the D600 Pro2 HS uses part 131001 and the D600 Pro3 HS uses part 131040. The D600 Pro2 extruder motors are parts 131024 (E1) and 131025 (E2).
Installation tips
Power the printer off and unplug it. Support the moving Z assembly before you release the motor so nothing drops when the drive is disconnected. Photograph the cable routing and connector, then fit the new motor in the same position and orientation. Jog the Z axis through its full travel to check for binding, home the printer, re-level the bed and run a first layer test before you start a long job.
