What a failing drag chain cable looks like
Errors that come and go with the position of the print head, not with time.
Temperature readings that jump or show a fault, then recover.
A fan, sensor or motor on the moving assembly that stops working mid print.
Insulation that is cracked, flattened or worn through at a bend.
These symptoms can also come from a loose connector, so reseat the plugs at both ends first. If the fault returns, the conductors inside the cable are the likely cause.

The standard D600 Pro2 uses a different cable, part 160013. The D1000 HS uses part 160016.
Installation tips
Disconnect power before you begin. Take clear photos of each connector and the route the cable takes through the chain and frame. Fit the new cable in exactly the same route, keep it flat in the chain, and avoid sharp bends at the entry and exit points. After reconnecting, move the axis through its full range by hand, then power up and check that all temperatures, fans and sensors read normally.
