Signs the sink fan needs replacing
Clogs that appear mid-print rather than at the start.
The extruder gear clicks or chews into the filament.
Filament that is swollen or deformed just above the hotend when you pull it out.
A sink fan that does not spin, spins slowly or rattles while the hotend is hot.
Compatible CreatBot 3D printer
The D600 Pro also uses a print cooling fan (150025), a power supply cooling fan (150026) and a cross flow fan (150027). The D600 Pro2 uses a different sink fan, part 150028.
Diagnosing heat creep
Heat creep is when heat climbs above the heat break and softens filament where it should still be solid. The softened section swells, grips the walls and stops the filament moving. It is most noticeable with materials that soften easily and on long, slow prints. If you see these symptoms, check that the sink fan is spinning at full speed and that the heat sink fins are free of dust and filament strings. A fan that is slow or stopped is the most common cause and the easiest fix.
Installation tips
Turn the printer off and let the hotend cool completely. Note the fan orientation so the new fan blows through the heat sink fins the same way, and follow the original cable path away from the heater block. Heat the hotend afterwards and confirm the fan is running before you load filament.
