D1000 Z-Axis Motor

The CreatBot D1000 Z motor (part 131029) is the OEM Z-axis motor for the CreatBot D1000. The D1000 is built for very tall parts, and the Z motor is what moves the axis up one layer at a time through the whole build. If the Z motor misses steps or stalls, the result is visible straight away as uneven layers, a short part or a failed print. Full specifications →

Why the Z motor matters on a D1000
A tall part means a very large number of Z steps. The motor has to make each one accurately.
Consistent Z movement is what gives smooth, even layer lines.
Lost steps compress the part and throw off dimensions.
Signs the Z motor may need replacing
The Z axis will not move, or moves unevenly or with a grinding sound.
Layer banding or compressed sections that remain after mechanical checks.
The motor stalls during homing or leveling.
Damage to the shaft, body or connector.
A dirty or dry lead screw, a slipping coupling or a cable fault can cause the same symptoms. Rule those out first, or ask Rev1 support for help with diagnosis.
Compatible CreatBot 3D printer
The D1000's extruder motors are parts 131027 (E1) and 131028 (E2). The D1000 HS is a different printer and uses Z motor 131004.
Installation tips

Turn the printer off and unplug it. Secure the Z axis so it cannot move or drop while the motor is removed. Photograph the motor mount, coupling and cable routing first. Install the new motor, tighten the coupling evenly so the lead screw runs true, reconnect the cable, then home the axis, re-level the bed and print a tall test piece to confirm even layers.
