Signs the Y-axis belt needs replacing
Prints shift front to back partway through.
Parts come out skewed, or diagonals on a calibration square do not match.
A ticking or skipping sound on fast Y moves.
The belt shows cracking, fraying or worn teeth, or will not stay tensioned.
Compatible CreatBot 3D printer
This belt is for the D1000 only. The other D1000 belts are the X-axis belt (143015), Y-axis closed loop belt (143017), Z-axis motor belt (143018) and Z-axis timing belt (143019). The D1000 HS uses Y-axis belt 143021.
Y-axis belt or closed loop belt?
The D1000 lists two Y-axis belts. The Y-axis belt is typically an open length secured at its ends that moves the axis itself. The closed loop belt (143017) is a continuous loop, the kind that usually runs between pulleys in the Y drive train. Look at where the wear is before you order: if the damaged belt has two clamped ends, this is the part you need.
Installation tips
Power off and unplug the printer. Photograph the belt route and how each end is held. If the Y axis has a belt on each side, keep the two sides at the same tension so the gantry stays square. Fit the new belt, tension it, move the axis by hand through its travel, then home and print a calibration square.
