Signs the sink fan needs replacing
The extruder clicks or grinds and filament stops feeding after the print has been running a while.
Repeated clogs that come back soon after clearing.
The fan is stopped, slow or noisy while the hotend is hot.

Compatible CreatBot 3D printer
The D1000 also uses a print cooling fan (150033), a power supply cooling fan (150034) and a cross flow fan (150035). The D1000 HS is a different machine with its own sink fan, part 150004.
Why the sink fan matters
Every hotend has a hot zone and a cold zone. The heat break between them keeps most of the heat in the melt zone, and the sink fan removes the heat that leaks upward. When the fan slows down, the cold zone warms up and filament softens before it reaches the nozzle. Soft filament expands and grips the walls, which is the classic cause of heat creep jams. Replacing a tired sink fan is far quicker than stripping a jammed hotend.
Installation tips
Power the printer off and let the hotend cool completely. Note how the fan is mounted and which way it faces, so the new fan still pushes air through the heat sink fins. Route the cable the same way as the original, clear of the heater block. Heat the hotend and check the fan spins before you print.
