D1000 HS Z Drive (Z-Axis Stepper Driver)
The CreatBot D1000 HS Z drive (part 115005) is the OEM stepper motor driver for the Z axis of the CreatBot D1000 HS. The Z axis sets layer height: after every layer it steps the build plate or gantry by a precise amount, and on a printer as tall as the D1000 HS a single print can involve thousands of those steps. Signs the Z drive may need replacing
Uneven or banded layer lines that do not change with slicer settings.
Parts that are shorter or taller than designed.
The Z axis fails to move, moves erratically or the motor only hums.
Z homing or leveling stops with an error.
A binding lead screw, a loose coupler or a damaged cable can produce the same symptoms. Check the Z mechanics and wiring first, or ask Rev1 support to help.
Compatible CreatBot 3D printer
The D1000 HS uses separate driver parts for X (115003), Y (115004), Z (115005) and E (115006). Other printers use their own Z drivers, for example the D600 Pro2 (115001).
Installation tips
Before you power down, make sure nothing is resting on the build plate. Switch off and unplug the printer, then open the electronics bay. Note the orientation of the old Z driver, swap in the new module the same way round and reconnect the Z motor cable. Home the printer, run the leveling routine and print a tall test part to confirm consistent layers.
