Signs the Y-axis belt needs replacing
Front to back layer shifts, particularly when printing at higher speeds.
Parts that are out of square, or a calibration square with unequal diagonals.
Ripples on surfaces that face the front or back of the printer.
Cracking, fraying or worn teeth, or a belt that slackens soon after tensioning.
Compatible CreatBot 3D printer
The D1000 HS Y drive also uses a closed loop belt, part 143022. The other D1000 HS belts are the X-axis belt (143020), Z-axis motor belt (143023) and Z-axis timing belt (143024). The standard D1000 uses Y-axis belt 143016.
Which Y belt is worn?
The D1000 HS has two Y-axis belts. This one, 143021, is the Y-axis belt that moves the axis. The closed loop belt, 143022, is a continuous loop of the kind used to carry drive between pulleys. If the worn belt has clamped ends, order this part. If it is an endless loop, order 143022.
Installation tips
Turn the printer off and unplug it. Take photos of the belt path and both end clamps. Where the Y axis uses a belt on each side, set both to the same tension so the gantry stays square. Fit the new belt, tension it, move the axis by hand through its full travel, then home and print a calibration square at your usual speed.
