Signs it needs replacing
Clicking or skipping from the extruder, ground or flattened filament, under extrusion that continues after the nozzle has been cleared, or visible damage to the unit. A partial clog, a print temperature set too low for the speed, or damp filament can cause similar symptoms, so contact Rev1 support if you want help confirming the extruder is at fault.

The standard D1000 uses part 183008. The D600 Pro2 HS also has its own extruder unit, part 183007.
Installation tips
Unload the filament while the hotend is hot, then power off, unplug and let the print head cool. Photograph the wiring and cable routing before removing the old unit. Fit the new unit with the original hardware, reconnect each cable as photographed and make sure nothing can catch as the head moves. Load filament, run a manual extrusion test, then a calibration print at normal speed and at your usual high speed settings.
