D1000 HS Extruder Motor, Left or Right

The CreatBot D1000 HS extruder motor is the OEM motor that drives the filament feed on the CreatBot D1000 HS. The D1000 HS is a dual extruder printer, and each extruder has its own motor, so CreatBot supplies the motor in a left and a right version. The extruder motor turns the drive that pushes filament into the hotend. On a high speed printer that has to happen quickly and consistently, so a weak or failing motor shows up fast as under-extrusion on that side. Full specifications →

Signs an extruder motor needs replacing
One extruder stops feeding or feeds weakly while the other works.
Stuttering, buzzing or clicking from the motor itself, rather than from the drive gear.
The motor runs unusually hot or has a damaged shaft, body or connector.
Under-extrusion on one side that continues after the nozzle and drive gears have been checked.
Choose your side
| Side | Part number | Fits |
|---|---|---|
| Left | 131005 | D1000 HS |
| Right | 131006 | D1000 HS |
Compatible CreatBot 3D printer
Both sides fit the D1000 HS only. The D1000 HS Z motor is a separate part, 131004. The D1000 Pro HS uses different extruder motors (131038 and 131039).
Left or right: how to choose

Order the motor for the extruder that has failed, with left and right as seen facing the front of the printer. To confirm the motor is the problem, you can swap the left and right motor cables at the motors: if the fault moves to the other side, the motor is at fault. If it stays on the same side, look at the cable, connector or mainboard output instead. Many owners running long dual material jobs keep one spare of each side.
Installation tips
Power the printer off, let the hotends cool and unload the filament on the affected side. Photograph the extruder before you open it. Move the drive gear to the new motor if your assembly requires it, align it with the filament path, and reconnect the cable to the same side. Load filament and extrude a test length before you print.
