The CreatBot D1000 drag chain cable (part 160015) is the OEM cable that runs through the drag chain on the CreatBot D1000. A drag chain, or cable carrier, guides the wiring that feeds a moving assembly so it bends along a controlled path instead of rubbing or tangling. The cable inside carries power and signals to the moving parts of the printer, such as heaters, fans, sensors and motors. Signs the drag chain cable needs replacing
Temperature reading errors or heater faults that appear only at certain positions of travel.
Fans or sensors on the moving assembly that cut in and out during a print.
Faults that come and go when you move the axis by hand with the printer idle.
Cracked insulation, kinks or exposed conductors at the chain ends.
Intermittent faults that follow the position of the axis are the classic sign of wire fatigue inside a flexing cable. Swapping the whole cable is the reliable fix, since spliced wires inside a drag chain usually fail again.
Compatible CreatBot 3D printer
The D1000 HS uses a different drag chain cable, part 160016. Other models also have their own: the D600 Pro (160009, 160010), D600 Pro2 (160013), D600 Pro2 HS (160014) and F1000 (160012).
Installation tips
Power the printer off and unplug it. Photograph and label every connector at both ends before you disconnect anything. Open the drag chain links, lay the new cable in the same position as the old one without twisting it, and close the links. Move the axis through its full travel by hand to check the cable flexes freely, then power up and confirm every heater, fan and sensor reads normally.
