PSU Filament
A transparent, high-temperature sulfone. PSU (polysulfone) delivers high heat resistance, rigidity, transparency, and good hydrolytic stability — able to withstand repeated sterilization — making it a versatile high-performance choice for medical, food-contact, and industrial parts.

What is PSU filament?
PSU (Polysulfone) is an amorphous high-performance thermoplastic in the sulfone family. It combines high heat resistance, rigidity, good hydrolytic stability (resistance to hot water and steam), and inherent transparency with an amber tint, along with inherent flame retardancy in many grades.
PSU sits between PES and PPSU in the sulfone lineup: more general-purpose than PPSU, transparent, and well suited to medical devices, food and beverage equipment, and industrial parts that need heat resistance and repeated sterilization. Being amorphous it warps relatively little, but still requires a high-temperature printer and thorough drying.
PSU vs PPSU vs PES — how to choose

Printing PSU successfully
- High-temp printer — high-temperature hotend and heated chamber required.
- Dry thoroughly — PSU is hygroscopic; dry filament preserves clarity and strength.
- Heated chamber for low warp and layer bonding.
- Strong bed adhesion and slow, hot printing.
- Follow the datasheet — profiles are grade-specific.
