PPS Filament
A chemical-resistance champion. PPS (polyphenylene sulfide) is a semi-crystalline high-performance polymer with near-universal chemical resistance, high continuous heat resistance, inherent flame retardancy, and excellent dimensional stability — built for chemical, automotive, and electrical service.

What is PPS filament?
PPS (Polyphenylene Sulfide) is a semi-crystalline high-performance thermoplastic renowned for outstanding chemical resistance — it resists virtually all solvents, acids, and bases below ~200 °C. It adds high continuous-use temperature, inherent flame retardancy, low moisture absorption, and excellent dimensional stability.
These properties make PPS a workhorse in chemical processing, automotive fuel/coolant systems, and electrical components. It's frequently offered glass- or carbon-fiber filled to improve printability and stiffness, since neat PPS is challenging. Printing requires a high-temperature hotend and heated chamber, with careful crystallization management.
PPS vs PPSU vs PEEK — how to choose
All three are high-performance; each leads in a different dimension:
Choose PPS specifically when chemical resistance is the driving requirement.
Printing PPS successfully
- High-temp printer — high-temperature hotend and heated chamber required.
- Prefer fiber-filled grades — GF/CF PPS prints far more reliably than neat PPS.
- Dry thoroughly before printing.
- Manage crystallization — chamber temperature and cooling control final properties and warp.
- Hardened nozzle for filled grades (abrasive).
