PETG Filament
The everyday functional workhorse. PETG combines toughness, easy printing, and water, chemical, and UV resistance — no enclosure required. It bridges the gap between easy PLA and demanding ABS, making it the default for durable, real-world parts.

What is PETG filament?
PETG (Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol-modified) is a tough, semi-rigid thermoplastic that prints nearly as easily as PLA but stands up to the real world far better. It resists water, many chemicals, and UV, tolerates moderate heat (softening around 70–80 °C), and has good impact strength and a slight flexibility that keeps parts from shattering.
PETG prints without an enclosure and warps very little, making it a low-hassle upgrade from PLA for functional parts. Its main quirks are stringing (managed with retraction and drying) and a tendency to stick too well to some beds. It's a great all-rounder for brackets, enclosures, bottles, and outdoor parts.
PETG vs PLA vs ABS — how to choose
PETG sits right between the two most common filaments:

Printing PETG successfully
- Nozzle 230–250 °C, bed 70–85 °C — no enclosure needed.
- Dry to stop stringing — PETG absorbs moisture; a dry spool prints clean.
- Tune retraction and use travel-speed adjustments to control stringing and blobs.
- Prevent over-adhesion — use a light glue release on glass/PEI so parts don't tear the bed.
- Moderate part cooling — some fan improves overhangs without hurting layer bonding.
