PES Filament
A high-temperature sulfone-family engineering polymer. PES (polyethersulfone) offers high continuous heat resistance, inherent flame retardancy, and excellent resistance to hot water and steam — used where parts must endure repeated sterilization and elevated temperatures.

What is PES filament?
PES (Polyethersulfone, also PESU) is an amorphous high-performance thermoplastic in the sulfone family (alongside PSU and PPSU). It combines high heat resistance, a high glass-transition temperature, inherent flame retardancy, and outstanding resistance to hot water and steam, along with good chemical resistance and rigidity.
Those traits make PES a strong choice for parts that face repeated steam sterilization, hot fluids, or sustained elevated temperature — in medical, laboratory, and industrial settings. Like the other sulfones it's amorphous (low warp tendency relative to semi-crystalline high-temp polymers) but still needs a high-temperature printer and thorough drying.
PES vs PSU vs PPSU — how to choose
The three sulfones overlap; the difference is in toughness and hydrolytic resistance:

Printing PES successfully
- High-temp printer — sulfones need a high-temperature hotend and heated chamber.
- Dry thoroughly — PES is hygroscopic; moisture degrades strength and clarity.
- Heated chamber for interlayer strength and low warp.
- Strong bed adhesion and slow, hot printing for best layer bonding.
- Follow the datasheet — profiles are grade-specific.
