Anycubic Kobra S1 & S1 Max — Enclosed CoreXY 3D Printers

The Kobra S1 series is Anycubic’s enclosed CoreXY line — the one to buy when you need a sealed, heated build for ABS, ASA and engineering materials, not just PLA. The compact Kobra S1 runs a 250 mm enclosed build with a 320 °C hotend and 120 °C bed; the Kobra S1 Max steps up to a 350 mm build with a 65 °C active chamber and a 350 °C hotend for PC, PA and carbon- and glass-fiber grades, with multi-color up to 16 colors. Both keep the ACE Pro multi-color system and 600 mm/s speed. This page compares the two.

How to choose

Choosing a Anycubic kobra s1 (enclosed corexy) machine

The decisions that actually matter for this class of machine — size them to your parts, not to a spec sheet.

Why enclosed

A sealed, enclosed CoreXY holds chamber heat so ABS, ASA and higher-temp materials print without warping, and it keeps fumes contained. Both S1 machines are fully enclosed.

S1 or S1 Max

The S1 is the compact 250 mm all-rounder for ABS/ASA/TPU at $649. The S1 Max adds a bigger 350 mm build, a 65 °C active heated chamber and a 350 °C hotend — enabling PC, PA and carbon-/glass-filled engineering materials — plus up to 16 colors.

Materials

The S1 runs PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA and TPU. The S1 Max extends to PC, PA, PA6-CF, PC-CF/GF, PET-CF, PLA-CF, PETG-CF and PVA — a genuine engineering-material machine.

Multi-color

Both use the ACE Pro color engine: the S1 up to 8 colors, the S1 Max up to 16 (ACE 2 Pro), with active filament drying and RFID filament identification.

Frequently asked questions

Kobra S1 or S1 Max — which should I buy?

Choose the S1 ($649) for a compact 250 mm enclosed machine that handles ABS, ASA and TPU. Choose the S1 Max ($1,049) if you need the larger 350 mm build, a 65 °C active heated chamber and a 350 °C hotend for PC, PA and carbon-/glass-fiber engineering materials, plus up to 16 colors.

What can the Kobra S1 series print that the open-frame Kobras can’t?

Because they’re fully enclosed, the S1 handles ABS, ASA and TPU reliably, and the S1 Max — with its active heated chamber — adds PC, PA and carbon-/glass-filled engineering grades that open-frame printers struggle with.

Do the S1 machines print in multiple colors?

Yes. Both ship as Combos with the ACE Pro color engine — up to 8 colors on the S1 and up to 16 on the S1 Max (ACE 2 Pro) — with active drying and RFID filament identification.

Is the Kobra S1 Max fast?

Yes — up to 600 mm/s with 20,000 mm/s² acceleration, the same speed class as the rest of the Kobra line, in a fully-enclosed CoreXY frame.

What support comes with it?

Rev1 is a US reseller: the Kobra S1 and S1 Max ship from a US warehouse with US-based phone and video support. Call (248) 707-2950.
