3DXTech Engineering Filament — PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA, PC & Nylon
The everyday engineering plastics — 3DXTech’s USA-made standard filaments for functional parts, tooling and production. MAX-G PETG and PCTG for tough, chemical-resistant workhorses; 3DXMAX ABS, ASA, PC, ezPC and HIPS for enclosures, outdoor and high-heat parts; AmideX and ION nylons (and WearX wear-resistant nylon) for gears, bearings and fatigue; and ecoMax/Economy PLA and PETG for affordable prototyping. This page compares the base polymers so you can match the material to the part.

Choosing a 3DXTech engineering machine
The decisions that actually matter for this class of machine — size them to your parts, not to a spec sheet.
Start with the environment
Match the base to where the part lives: PLA for room-temperature prototypes and display parts, PETG for tough general-purpose and outdoor parts, ABS/ASA for enclosures and UV-stable outdoor use, PC for high heat and impact, and Nylon for wear, fatigue and chemical resistance.
Ease vs performance
PLA and PETG are the easiest to print on any heated-bed machine; ABS, ASA and HIPS need an enclosure to control warp; PC and the nylons want higher temperatures and drying. We can recommend a grade your printer will run well.
USA-made consistency
3DXTech compounds and spools these in the USA, so color, diameter and mechanical consistency are tight batch-to-batch — important for production and repeatable parts.
Wear & special needs
For gears, bushings and sliding parts, WearX and ION nylons add wear resistance; for dissolvable supports pair with HIPS (ABS) — and for carbon/glass-fiber, high-temp or ESD versions see our CarbonX, FibreX, ThermaX and 3DXSTAT lines.

Frequently asked questions
Which engineering plastic should I choose?
Start with the environment: PLA for room-temperature prototypes, PETG for tough general-purpose and outdoor parts, ABS/ASA for enclosures and UV-stable outdoor use, PC for high heat and impact, and Nylon for wear, fatigue and chemical resistance. Tell us the part and we’ll recommend a grade.
What’s the easiest to print?
PLA is the easiest, then PETG — both run on any heated-bed printer. ABS, ASA and HIPS want an enclosure to control warp, and PC and the nylons need higher temperatures and filament drying.
PETG or PCTG — what’s the difference?
PCTG is a tougher, more chemical- and heat-resistant cousin of PETG with excellent clarity and impact strength. Choose PETG for easy general-purpose parts, PCTG when you need more toughness and clarity.
Do you have carbon-fiber, high-temp or ESD versions?
Yes — see our CarbonX (carbon-fiber) and FibreX (glass-fiber) lines for reinforced grades, ThermaX for PEEK/PEKK/ULTEM high-temp, and 3DXSTAT for ESD-safe and EMI-shielding versions.
Are these made in the US and in stock?
Yes — 3DXTech engineering filaments are compounded and spooled in the USA and ship from US stock. Rev1 is an authorized 3DXTech reseller with US-based support. Call (248) 707-2950.
