Why AESUB Violet
Is the Industry Standard
AESUB Violet is a vanishing 3D scanning spray for industrial optical scanners that sublimates completely within approximately 4 hours, eliminating the cleanup step that conventional pigment-based sprays require. Traditional scanning sprays leave a mess requiring cleaning after every session. AESUB Violet sublimates completely within approximately 4 hours — no wiping, no solvents, no wasted time. Apply it on the spot, scan, and move on.
Conventional sprays contain pigments that settle on scanners, lenses, and air filters. AESUB Violet is entirely pigment-free — spray it directly next to your scanner without any contamination risk to your lab or production environment.
At 8–15 microns, AESUB Violet lays down a thin, homogeneous matte layer that creates ideal contrast for structured light and laser scanners. Controlled layer thickness keeps measurements accurate.
Three Steps to
Perfect Scan Conditions
Hold the can 15–20 cm from the surface. Apply an even coat with smooth back-and-forth strokes. Avoid wagging — one consistent pass is all you need.
Begin scanning once the coating is stable and dry to the touch. Reference targets adhere cleanly to the coated surface. Re-spray areas as needed to extend the scan window.
The coating sublimates completely — no cleaning required. Parts are reusable with zero residue. Higher temperatures accelerate sublimation; cooler environments extend it.
Scan What Was
Previously Unscannable

Optical 3D scanners struggle with three surface types: shiny metals that scatter structured light, transparent parts that let light pass through, and dark surfaces that absorb it. AESUB Violet creates a uniform matte white layer across all three — giving your scanner the contrast it needs to capture accurate data on every pass.

Frequently Asked —
AESUB Violet
Does AESUB Violet really disappear on its own?
Yes. AESUB Violet sublimates — it transitions from solid coating to vapor without leaving any residue. At 21°C it's fully gone within approximately 4 hours. Independent lab testing confirms zero residue. You do not need to wipe, wash, or clean anything.
How long do I have to scan after spraying?
Approximately 1–2 hours at 21°C. Higher temperatures shorten the usable window; cooler environments extend it. Re-spray individual areas as needed — there's no penalty for additional coats.
Is AESUB Violet safe to use around my scanner?
Yes. Because it's completely pigment-free, there's no risk of contaminating your scanner's lenses, projectors, or air filters. You can spray it directly at the scanning location without removing or covering equipment.
What scanners and surfaces does it work with?
AESUB Violet works with structured-light, laser, photogrammetry, and LiDAR scanners including EinScan, Shining3D, GOM, ZEISS, Creaform, Hexagon, and Artec. Effective on reflective metals, chrome, transparent plastics, glass, dark parts, and deep pockets.
How does AESUB Violet compare to AESUB Blue or Orange?
Violet is the precision metrology pick — thinner layer (4–8 µm) than Blue (8–15 µm) means less dimensional impact on tight-tolerance parts, with a longer scan window (2–6 hr) for inspection sessions. Blue is the fastest-sublimating everyday spray for small to medium parts. Orange (2–6 µm, 4–8 hr scan) is the thinnest of the three, optimized for large parts and all-day campaigns. Pick Violet when accuracy matters more than speed.
How does AESUB Violet compare to titanium-dioxide sprays?
Conventional TiO2 / talc-based sprays leave a permanent pigment layer that contaminates scanners, lenses, and air filters and requires solvent cleaning of every part. AESUB Violet is pigment-free and TiO2-free — it sublimates completely with zero residue, so there's nothing to clean and nothing to contaminate.
How should I store AESUB Violet?
Dry, between 18–21°C optimal, protected from sunlight, max 50°C. Shelf life is 3 years from manufacture. Standard aerosol storage rules apply.
Can I buy AESUB Violet by the case?
Yes. 12-can cases are $27.50 per can ($330.00 total). 96-can pallets are $21.89 per can ($2,101.44). Contact Rev1 at (248) 707-2950 or (248) 707-2950 for case and pallet pricing.
