Bambu Lab AMS RFID Board Automatic Filament Recognition for the AMS.

Genuine RFID Reader Board for the Bambu AMS.

Bambu Lab AMS RFID Board — RFID reader PCB with embedded antenna coil

The AMS RFID Board is the reader that lets a Bambu AMS identify a filament spool automatically. When a genuine Bambu spool is loaded, the board reads the RFID tag on the spool through its embedded antenna and passes the filament’s type, color, and recommended settings to the printer — no manual entry, no guessing. Order it as a genuine Bambu Lab replacement to restore automatic recognition to an AMS whose RFID reader has failed. Full specifications →

What It Does

Reads the Spool. Sets the Filament.

Genuine Bambu filament spools carry an RFID tag that stores what the filament is — material, color, and the print settings Bambu recommends for it. The AMS RFID Board is the antenna and reader that picks up that tag when the spool is loaded into the AMS. Instead of telling the printer what you just loaded, the AMS reads it and configures itself. That automatic hand-off is the difference between managing filament by hand and letting the machine track it.

An Embedded Antenna Coil.

The large looped traces across the board are the RFID antenna — a printed coil that energizes the spool’s passive tag and reads it back over a short range. The reader IC and its supporting components sit along the top edge. It’s a purpose-built board, which is why a genuine OEM replacement matters: the antenna geometry and reader tuning are what let it read the tag reliably every load.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the AMS RFID Board do?

It reads the RFID tag on a genuine Bambu filament spool when the spool is loaded into the AMS, and passes the filament’s type, color, and recommended settings to the printer. That’s what lets the AMS recognize filament automatically instead of you entering it by hand.

Which AMS and printer does it fit?

It’s a component of the Bambu AMS system. Because Bambu’s AMS line includes more than one unit and pairs with different printers, the correct RFID board depends on your exact setup. Tell Rev1 your AMS unit and printer and we’ll confirm this is the right board before you order.

When would I need to replace it?

Typically when the AMS stops recognizing genuine Bambu spools automatically — the mechanics feed fine, but the printer no longer picks up filament type and color from the tag. That points to the RFID reader rather than a feeder or mainboard fault.

Does it work with third-party filament?

Automatic recognition relies on the RFID tag that Bambu embeds in its own spools, so it identifies genuine Bambu filament. Third-party filament without a compatible tag won’t be auto-recognized — you’d set it manually — but that’s a property of the tag, not a fault in the board.

Is this a genuine Bambu Lab part?

Yes. Rev1 Technologies is an authorized Bambu Lab reseller, and this is a genuine Bambu Lab replacement — not a third-party clone. On an RFID reader, the antenna tuning and reader IC are what make reads reliable, which is why the OEM board matters.

Can Rev1 help me pick and fit it?

Yes — we’ll confirm the right board for your AMS and printer and point you to Bambu Lab’s official replacement guide. For US customers, buying from Rev1 means fast domestic shipping and a real person to call at (248) 707-2950.
