The spool splits into a wide half and a narrow half with a simple twist. Set a Bambu refill onto the core, twist the halves back together, and you’re loaded — then unload the empty and do it again with the next refill. One spool serves for hundreds of refills, which is the whole point of Bambu’s spool-free refill system: far less plastic waste than a fresh spool with every kilogram.

A standard reusable spool is fine for PLA, but the engineering filaments that need serious drying — nylon and its composites, PC, PET-CF — are dried at temperatures a normal spool can soften or warp at. This spool is molded from ABS+PC rated to 90°C, so you can dry the filament on the spool without it deforming. That’s the difference: a spool you can leave loaded through a long, hot dry cycle and trust to hold its shape.

How is this different from the standard Reusable Spool?

Both are twist-open spools you load Bambu refills onto, but this one is molded from ABS+PC with heat resistance up to 90°C. That lets you dry filament while it’s still on the spool without the spool softening or warping — important for the engineering filaments that need hot, long dry cycles. The standard spool is fine for PLA and everyday materials; choose the high-temperature spool if you print nylons, composites, or PC that you dry regularly.

Can I put it in a filament dryer with filament loaded?

Yes — that’s exactly what it’s designed for. Its ABS+PC construction resists heat up to 90°C, which covers the drying temperatures used for moisture-sensitive engineering filaments. Always follow the specific filament’s recommended drying temperature and time; the spool is built to tolerate that heat while holding its shape.

How do I load a refill?
