A Fully Enclosed CoreXY Engine Built for Speed and Stability
CoreXY motion, not a bed-slinger
Unlike the open-bed Kobra 3 line, the Kobra S1 uses a true CoreXY architecture: both X and Y motors stay fixed to the frame and drive the lightweight toolhead through a crossed belt path. Because the print bed only moves up and down in Z — rather than slinging the whole part back and forth — tall prints stay stable and the machine wastes far less energy fighting its own inertia. Less moving mass means higher accelerations and cleaner corners at speed, which is the real foundation for genuinely usable 600 mm/s printing instead of a headline number you can never actually reach.
Enclosed, warm and quiet
The sealed chamber holds heat for warp-prone materials like ABS and ASA, contains fumes and noise, and keeps drafts off your prints. In quiet mode the S1 drops to as low as 44 dB — quiet enough to share a room or office without the constant whine of an open frame.
600 mm/s Ultra-Fast Printing, With Acceleration to Match
Up to 600 mm/s, 20,000 mm/s² acceleration
The S1 tops out at 600 mm/s with a maximum acceleration of 20,000 mm/s². Top speed only matters if the machine can actually reach it between corners, and that is where acceleration comes in — high acceleration is what lets a print spend most of its travel at full speed instead of constantly ramping up and slowing down. Anycubic recommends 300 mm/s as the everyday sweet spot for quality, still roughly four to six times faster than a classic bed-slinger, while input shaping and pressure advance keep ringing and corner bulge under control so the speed does not come at the cost of surface finish.
320°C All-Metal Hotend — Tool-Free and Clog-Resistant
Hot enough for engineering filaments
The 320°C hotend opens the door past PLA — PETG, ABS and ASA all run comfortably, with a hardened path that handles abrasive blends. That extra thermal headroom matters at speed: pushing filament through the nozzle faster demands more heat to keep the melt flowing, so a higher ceiling translates directly into cleaner extrusion at high flow rates. The nozzle pops out tool-free for fast swaps or clog clearing, and the standard 0.4 mm tip can be expanded to 0.6 or 0.8 mm when you want to trade fine detail for raw throughput on larger functional parts.
Compatible with all your everyday filaments
PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA and TPU 95A are all supported, so one machine covers prototypes, functional parts and flexible jobs. Note that flexible TPU 95A is run from the direct path rather than through the ACE Pro — the multicolor engine handles the rigid materials.
Up to 8-Color Printing With Active Filament Drying
Four colors per ACE Pro — eight when you chain two
Each ANYCUBIC Color Engine Pro (ACE Pro) feeds four spools into the printer for automatic color changes. Link a second ACE Pro and the S1 prints across all eight colors in a single job — multi-material models, color-coded parts and gradients without touching the machine mid-print.
Drying and printing at the same time
The ACE Pro is also an active dryer: an internal heater holds spools at up to 55°C while they feed the printer, keeping moisture-sensitive PETG and PLA dry through long jobs. Damp filament is one of the most common causes of stringing, popping and weak layer adhesion, and it gets worse the longer a spool sits open. Because the ACE Pro dries continuously rather than as a separate pre-conditioning step, you never have to choose between drying and printing — the spools stay sealed and warm right up to the extruder, so a 24-hour multicolor job looks as clean at hour 20 as it did at hour one.
Start with four, scale to eight
The 4-color Combo ships with a single ACE Pro; the 8-color Combo adds a second. If you start with four, you can add the second unit later — the printer recognizes both and unifies them under one filament hub on the 4.3-inch touchscreen.
Set It and Walk Away — Auto-Leveling, AI Camera, Auto-Resume
First-layer success without the fiddling
LeviQ3.0 automatic leveling probes the bed and dials in the Z-offset before each print, so the first layer lands right whether you are running PLA or warp-prone ASA — no paper-shimming, no manual knob twiddling, no wasted first attempts. The first layer is where most failed prints actually fail, so automating it removes the single biggest source of frustration for new operators. Area leveling and object-skip let you keep printing the rest of a plate if one part lets go, instead of aborting the whole job and starting over.
Finished multicolor parts, protected end to end
Between the AI camera, auto-resume, and runout detection, a long multicolor job is genuinely hands-off — the machine catches a failed print before it wastes a spool, and picks up exactly where it left off after a power blip or an empty filament. Anycubic also publishes a library of free multicolor models, so you can go from unboxing to a finished, full-color articulated print without modeling anything yourself.

FAQ
Anycubic Kobra S1 Combo — Common Questions
The questions buyers ask most before ordering an enclosed multicolor FDM printer.
How is the Kobra S1 different from the Kobra 3?
The Kobra S1 is a fully enclosed CoreXY printer, while the Kobra 3 is an open-bed (bed-slinger) design. CoreXY keeps the heavy motors fixed to the frame and moves only a light toolhead, which allows higher speed and accuracy. The enclosure also lets the S1 print warp-prone ABS and ASA more reliably and run much quieter.
What’s the difference between the three configurations?
Printer Only is the enclosed S1 with no multicolor engine — single-color printing. The 4-Color Combo adds one ACE Pro unit for automatic four-color printing and active drying. The 8-Color Combo includes two ACE Pro units, chained for up to eight colors in a single print. You can start with four colors and add a second ACE Pro later.
How many colors can it actually print?
Each ACE Pro holds and feeds four spools. With one unit you get four colors; chain a second ACE Pro and the printer can pull from all eight in a single job. The printer manages the purge and swap automatically between colors.
What materials can it print?
PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA, and TPU 95A. The 320°C hotend and 120°C heated bed handle the engineering materials, and the enclosure helps with ABS/ASA. Note that flexible TPU 95A runs from the direct path and is not compatible with the ACE Pro multicolor system.
Is 600 mm/s realistic for everyday prints?
600 mm/s is the maximum; Anycubic recommends 300 mm/s for the best balance of speed and quality. Even at 300 mm/s, the enclosed CoreXY platform is several times faster than a typical entry-level bed-slinger, and input shaping keeps surface artifacts low.
Do I need a separate filament dryer?
No — the ACE Pro is also an active dryer. It holds spools at up to 55°C while they feed the printer, keeping PETG and PLA dry through long jobs. That reduces stringing and brittleness without a separate dryer box.
Does it monitor prints automatically?
Yes. A built-in HD camera streams the print and runs AI spaghetti detection to catch failed prints. Power-loss resume and filament run-out detection let an overnight job survive a power blip or an empty spool, and object-skip lets the rest of a plate finish if one part fails.
How loud is it in an office or classroom?
In quiet mode the S1 runs as low as 44 dB — about the level of a quiet room. The enclosure also contains noise and fumes, which makes it far more office- and classroom-friendly than an open-frame printer.
Can I get help choosing and setting it up?
Absolutely. Call Rev1 at (248) 707-2950 or use the quote button on this page. We’ll help you pick the right configuration, recommend materials and nozzle sizes, and walk you through slicer profiles and multicolor setup.
