Why the Kobra 3 Max Combo

A genuinely big bed and real multicolor — without a prosumer price.

The Kobra 3 Max is the largest printer in Anycubic’s Kobra line: a 420×420×500 mm build envelope — about 88 litres, more than two carry-on suitcases of print space. Pair it with the ACE Pro filament system and the “Combo” prints in up to eight colors, automatically, while drying your filament as it goes. It runs at up to 600 mm/s with a 10,000 mm/s² acceleration ceiling, levels itself with LeviQ 3.0, and watches your prints with an AI camera. Dual Y-axis motors keep the large platform square at speed, a flexible PEI plate makes part removal a one-flex job, and power-loss recovery plus filament-runout auto-resume keep the long, unattended prints a big bed encourages from failing halfway through. Rev1 Technologies ships it from the USA and supports your setup — so a big multicolor machine arrives ready to run, not as a science project.

88 L Supersized Bed
A 420×420×500 mm envelope prints helmets, cosplay props, large enclosures, and full-size functional parts in one piece — no slicing a model into glued sections.
True Multicolor, Hands-Off
The ACE Pro unit feeds four colors automatically; add a second unit for eight. Color changes, purging, and filament drying happen without you babysitting a manual swap.
600 mm/s High Speed
A 600 mm/s ceiling (300 mm/s recommended) and 10,000 mm/s² acceleration push big prints through far faster than a typical bed-slinger of this size.
LeviQ 3.0 Auto-Leveling
Fully automatic bed leveling plus Z-offset calibration. A dotted-grid probe maps the large bed so first layers stick across all 420 mm — no paper-shimming a bed this size by hand.
AI Camera Monitoring
An onboard camera with AI spaghetti detection and object-skip catches failed prints early and lets you check progress remotely from the Anycubic App.
US Reseller & Support
Bought from Rev1, the Combo ships from a US warehouse with US phone and video support to get multicolor printing dialed in — not just a box from overseas.
Supersized Build Volume

420 × 420 × 500 mm — 88 litres of print space

Anycubic Kobra 3 Max 88-litre build volume compared to two carry-on suitcases
Bigger Than Two Suitcases

Print full-size parts in a single job

At 420×420×500 mm the Kobra 3 Max gives you roughly 88 litres of usable build space — more than two carry-on suitcases stacked together. Helmets, large cosplay armor, drone frames, planters, jigs, and full-scale enclosures print whole instead of being chopped into sections you glue and sand. For makers who keep hitting the ceiling on a 220 mm or 250 mm machine, the extra Z height alone is the reason to upgrade.

Flexible, Removable Plate

Pop parts off a flexible PEI sheet

The big bed uses a double-sided textured PEI spring-steel plate. Prints grip hard while hot, then release with a simple flex once cool — no scrapers, no gouged surfaces, no fighting a glass bed across 420 mm. The plate heats to 90 °C in about 125 seconds so PLA and PETG are ready to go quickly, and the textured side leaves a clean matte bottom finish on large flat parts.

ACE Pro Multicolor

Four colors out of the box, eight with a second unit

Up to 8 Colors

Automatic color changes, no manual swaps

The ACE Pro filament system loads four spools and switches between them automatically, so multicolor models print start-to-finish without you standing over the machine. The 4-color Combo ships with one ACE Pro unit; stack a second unit and the Kobra 3 Max prints up to eight colors in a single job — logos, signage, tabletop minis, and gradient art that would be impossible on a single-extruder machine. Choose the 4-color or 8-color configuration in the buy-box above.

Active Filament Drying

Keeps filament dry while it prints

The ACE Pro isn’t just a feeder — it actively dries your filament with built-in heating up to 55 °C. Moisture-sensitive PLA and PETG stay dry through long jobs, which means fewer pops, stringing, and surface defects from wet filament. Spools live in an enclosed box rather than open on a rack, so they stay clean and conditioned between prints. (TPU prints on the direct-drive extruder, not through the ACE Pro.)

Move fast without the wobble

A 600 mm/s top speed with 10,000 mm/s² acceleration means the Kobra 3 Max isn’t the slow giant big-format printers usually are. A 300 mm/s recommended speed keeps quality high for everyday prints, with headroom to push faster on draft parts. A high-flow hotend reaching 300 °C keeps plastic melting fast enough to actually use that speed, so a full-bed print finishes in a fraction of the time an older 60 mm/s machine would take.

LeviQ 3.0 levels the big bed for you

LeviQ 3.0 + Z-Offset

Perfect first layers across 420 mm

Leveling a 420 mm bed by hand is a nightmare. LeviQ 3.0 does it automatically — the probe maps a dense grid of points across the whole plate and sets the Z-offset, so first layers stick evenly from edge to edge without paper shims or trial-and-error. A 4.3″ capacitive touchscreen and Kobra OS firmware walk you through setup, and the Anycubic App plus AnycubicSlicer round out a workflow that gets a first-time large-format owner printing on day one.

Twin Y-Axis Drive

No layer shifts at speed

A large, heavy bed moving fast wants to twist and skip steps. The Kobra 3 Max drives the Y-axis with two synchronized motors and lead screws instead of one, keeping the platform square and preventing the layer-shift and step-loss that plague big single-motor bed-slingers at speed. Combined with power-loss recovery and filament runout detection with auto-resume, long unattended prints finish reliably instead of failing halfway through a 12-hour job.

Who It’s For

Big, colorful, and easy — for makers, classrooms, and small shops

Anycubic Kobra 3 Max with a translucent 88-litre build-volume visualization
One Machine, Many Jobs

From cosplay to classroom to small-batch

The Kobra 3 Max Combo hits a sweet spot: large enough for full-size cosplay armor, helmets, and props; multicolor enough for signage, educational models, board-game terrain, and tabletop minis; and easy enough for a classroom or library makerspace where a non-expert has to keep it running. Small shops use it for jigs, fixtures, enclosures, and short-run multicolor parts where buying a $2K+ machine isn’t justified. It’s a generalist that does the big, colorful work most desktop printers can’t — and because the workflow is almost entirely automated, the person running it doesn’t have to be a 3D-printing expert. Auto-leveling, active filament drying, AI failure detection, and a guided touchscreen mean the machine handles the fiddly parts, so a teacher, librarian, or shop owner can keep it producing without becoming a full-time operator.

FAQ

Anycubic Kobra 3 Max Combo — Common Questions

What is the difference between the 4-color and 8-color Combo?
Both are the same Kobra 3 Max printer. The 4-color Combo ($1,149) ships with one ACE Pro unit, which loads four spools and switches colors automatically. The 8-color Combo ($1,349) adds a second ACE Pro unit (stacked on the first) so you can print up to eight colors in a single job. If you mostly print one or two colors and occasionally want multicolor, the 4-color Combo is plenty; if multicolor signage, art, or detailed minis are your main use, the 8-color is the one. Choose your configuration in the buy-box above.
How big is the build volume, and what can I print?
The build volume is 420×420×500 mm — about 88 litres, more than two carry-on suitcases of space. That’s large enough for full-size cosplay helmets and armor, drone frames, large enclosures, planters, and functional parts in a single piece, rather than slicing a model into sections you glue together. The extra 500 mm of Z height is often the main reason makers upgrade from a 220–250 mm machine.
What materials can the Kobra 3 Max Combo print?
It prints PLA, PETG, and TPU. PLA and PETG run through the ACE Pro multicolor system, which also actively dries them up to 55 °C. TPU prints through the direct-drive extruder only (not the ACE Pro), because flexible filament doesn’t feed reliably through a multi-material buffer. The 0.4 mm nozzle can be swapped for an optional 0.6 or 0.8 mm nozzle for faster, chunkier prints. The hotend reaches 300 °C.
How fast does it actually print?
The Kobra 3 Max has a 600 mm/s maximum speed and 10,000 mm/s² acceleration, with 300 mm/s recommended for everyday quality. Real-world speed depends on the model, layer height, and material, but it’s dramatically faster than older large-format bed-slingers that topped out around 60–100 mm/s. Note that multicolor prints take longer overall because the printer purges filament at each color change.
Do I have to level the bed manually?
No. LeviQ 3.0 auto-leveling maps a dense grid of points across the whole 420 mm bed and sets the Z-offset automatically — which matters a lot on a bed this large, where hand-leveling is impractical. You run the auto-level routine and the printer handles first-layer height across the entire plate. A 4.3″ touchscreen guides setup, and AnycubicSlicer plus the Anycubic App round out the workflow.
Is the Kobra 3 Max enclosed?
No — it’s an open-frame printer, which is well suited to PLA, PETG, and TPU (the materials it supports). Open-frame designs print these materials reliably and run cooler. If you specifically need an enclosed chamber for high-temperature engineering materials like ABS or nylon, that’s a different class of machine; ask Rev1 and we’ll point you to the right option for those materials.
Does it monitor prints, and can I check on them remotely?
Yes. The Combo includes an onboard AI camera with spaghetti (print-failure) detection and object-skip, so a failed print can be caught early instead of wasting a full spool. Through the Anycubic App you can monitor progress and check the camera feed remotely — useful for the long, unattended jobs that a big bed encourages. Power-loss recovery and filament-runout auto-resume help those long prints finish reliably.
What do I get by buying from Rev1 instead of ordering direct?
Buying from Rev1 Technologies means the Combo ships from a US warehouse (faster delivery, no customs hassle) and comes with US-based phone and video support — real people who help you with setup, leveling, slicer settings, and multicolor profiles. We also help you choose between the 4-color and 8-color configuration before you buy, and source filament, nozzles, or a second ACE Pro unit afterward. Call (248) 707-2950 with any question.
