3DXTech ThermaXPES PelletsUltra-High-Temperature Engineering Polymer — Make Your Own Filament or Pellet-Print in Bulk
An ultra-high-temperature, chemically resistant engineering polymer.

ThermaX™ PES (Polyethersulfone) is a high-performance amorphous thermoplastic with exceptional heat resistance, inherent flame retardance, and excellent chemical and hydrolysis resistance. It requires very high extrusion temperatures — a task for high-temp home extruders and pellet-fed printers. Made in the USA. Full specifications →

Make your own filament — or feed a pellet printer — with genuine 3DXTech PES.

From pellets to spooled filament — on your own extruder.
Full control of your material supply, at bulk pricing.
A home filament extruder turns these pellets into 1.75 or 2.85 mm PES filament at a fraction of spooled-filament cost — ideal for high-volume printing, custom colors, or research. Pre-dry the resin, dial in your extruder, and you have a steady supply of genuine 3DXTech PES. Prefer to skip the spool? Feed the pellets directly into a pellet-fed printer.
An ultra-high-temperature, chemically resistant engineering polymer.
Full mechanical data for ThermaX™ PES is available from Rev1 on request.
Among the highest-temperature printable engineering polymers.
Natural flame retardance without added halogens.
Stands up to aggressive chemicals and hot water/steam.
Low, predictable shrinkage for precise high-temp parts.
Needs 340–360 °C extrusion — for high-temp extruders only.
Extrude your own PES filament or feed a high-temp pellet printer.
Pre-dry, then extrude — simple bulk processing.
3DXTech's guidance for turning PES pellets into filament or feeding a pellet printer.
Dry the resin before extrusion. A dedicated dryer or toaster oven works — not the kitchen oven.
3DXTech's recommended melt range for extruding these pellets.
Wet resin extrudes with bubbles in the filament — if you see them, dry the pellets longer.
Produce 1.75 or 2.85 mm filament with a desktop filament extruder.
Feed straight into a pellet-fed 3D printer for large-format or high-throughput work.
PES parts — at bulk volume.
Running from pellets makes high-volume production and large-format pellet printing far more economical than spooled filament.
When do pellets make sense?
These pellets are the same ThermaX™ PES resin as spooled PES filament. Choose pellets for the lowest cost per kg, pellet-fed printing, or custom filament extrusion; choose spooled filament when you want to load and print with no extra equipment. Request the full data sheet for exact mechanical figures.
| PES Pellets | Spooled PES Filament | |
|---|---|---|
| Cost per kg | Lowest | Higher |
| Ready to print | Needs extruder / pellet printer | Load and go |
| Best volume | High / bulk | Low–medium |
| Custom filament (color / diameter) | Yes | No |
| Format | 10 kg / 25 kg pails | 1 kg spools |
Same ThermaX™ PES resin in both formats; request the data sheet for exact properties. Prices vary by pail size and date.

FAQ
3DXTech PES Pellets — Common Questions
What are PES pellets for?
Making your own PES filament on a home filament extruder, or feeding a pellet-fed 3D printer directly. They are also used for injection molding and materials research. Bulk pellets are the most economical way to run PES at volume.
How do I process them?
Pre-dry at 150 °C for 4–6 hours, then extrude at 340–360 °C. Drying is essential — wet resin extrudes with bubbles in the filament.
Is this the same PES as your spooled filament?
Yes — it is the same USA-made ThermaX™ PES resin, just in bulk pellet form. The published property data applies to both.
What sizes are available?
10 kg / 25 kg pails, in natural. Ask us about colors and larger volumes.
Where can I get the mechanical data?
The full ThermaX™ PES technical data sheet is available from Rev1 on request — use any “Request the TDS” button on this page.
Anything special about processing?
PES is a high-temperature material — a hardened, all-metal hotend and 340–360 °C-capable extruder are required.
