Real SABIC ULTEM PEI, with a published datasheet behind it.
3DXTech compounds FibreX PEI+GF30 in the USA from genuine SABIC ULTEM PEI resin and 30% glass fiber, with published mechanical, thermal, and electrical data — no mystery blend. Rev1 Technologies is your authorized 3DXTech reseller and US support partner, Auburn Hills, Michigan.

Real ULTEM PEI, stiffened with 30% glass fiber.
FibreX PEI+GF30 takes genuine SABIC ULTEM PEI — one of the highest-performing engineering polymers you can print — and reinforces it with 30% glass fiber for even greater stiffness and dimensional stability. The result is a filament with a 217°C glass transition, a 212°C deflection temperature, inherent flame retardancy, and broad chemical resistance, so you can 3D-print structural, high-heat, end-use parts instead of machining them from expensive PEI billet. 3DXTech compounds it in the USA to a consistent, printable filament.

Print stiff, heat-resistant end-use parts.
The same PEI/ULTEM family used in aerospace, medical, and semiconductor hardware — from a spool.
PEI+GF30 holds its strength and stiffness at temperatures where most thermoplastics have long since softened, resists a wide range of automotive fluids, halogenated hydrocarbons, alcohols and aqueous solutions, and is inherently flame retardant. The 30% glass fiber adds rigidity and a low, uniform coefficient of thermal expansion for reproducible part-to-part dimensions — ideal for brackets, ducts, manifolds, fixtures, and sterilizable components.

Consistent layers, dimensionally stable.
The glass fiber's low, uniform CTE means parts come off the bed reproducibly to size.
A tight, even layer structure is what makes PEI+GF30 usable for functional hardware — the reinforced blend resists thermal creep and holds tolerances part-to-part, so a batch of brackets or manifolds all fit the same fixture. Dry filament, a hot chamber, and a hardened nozzle keep that surface finish clean.
Numbers that put it above ABS, PC, and nylon.
All figures from the 3DXTech FibreX PEI+GF30 published property chart — see the chart and the full specifications table below for the complete property set.
An amorphous PEI with a very high Tg, so parts keep their shape and stiffness far beyond engineering plastics like PC or nylon.
High strength at break, with a stiff 8790 MPa tensile modulus from the 30% glass-fiber reinforcement.
Retains rigidity under load at high temperature — suited to under-hood, autoclave, and sterilization environments.
Inherently flame-resistant with a stable dielectric constant over a wide temperature and frequency range.
Strong and rigid in bending, with a stiff 8560 MPa flexural modulus for load-bearing structural parts.
A low, uniform coefficient of thermal expansion and long-term hydrolytic stability give reproducible, autoclave-ready parts.

Rigid enough for load-bearing hardware.
The 30% glass fiber pushes tensile and flexural modulus far above unfilled polymers.
An 8790 MPa tensile modulus and 8560 MPa flexural modulus mean printed brackets, flanges, and manifolds stay stiff under sustained load — even at elevated temperature, where the 212°C deflection temperature keeps parts from sagging. That combination is why engineers reach for PEI+GF30 to replace machined billet in structural, high-heat assemblies.
It needs a real high-temp printer — here's what.
PEI+GF30 prints hot and is abrasive: it needs a 400°C-class hotend with a hardened nozzle, a hot bed, and dry filament. Match these and the results are repeatable.
An all-metal 400°C+ hotend is required; the glass fiber is abrasive, so a hardened-steel nozzle (0.4 mm minimum) is strongly recommended.
A hot bed plus a suitable adhesive for first-layer grip on a large, hot PEI part.
An enclosed, actively heated chamber improves layer bonding and dimensional stability on tall or structural parts.
Dry the filament (about 65°C for 4 hours) and keep it dry — PEI picks up moisture that ruins surface quality and layer strength.
The 30% glass fiber is abrasive and quickly wears brass; use a hardened-steel nozzle, 0.4 mm minimum diameter.
Run a layer height of 0.10 mm or higher; slower speeds and good part cooling control help with tall, structural prints.

FAQ
3DXTech FibreX PEI+GF30 — Common Questions
What printer do I need for PEI+GF30?
A true high-temperature printer: an all-metal 400°C+ hotend, a 120–160°C bed, and ideally an actively heated, enclosed chamber. Because the glass fiber is abrasive, use a hardened-steel nozzle (0.4 mm minimum) — a brass nozzle wears out fast.
Is it really made with genuine ULTEM?
Yes. 3DXTech manufactures FibreX PEI+GF30 using real SABIC ULTEM PEI resin, reinforced with 30% glass fiber, compounded in the USA with a published property chart and technical data sheet.
Do I have to dry it?
Yes. PEI absorbs moisture that causes poor surface finish and weak layers. Dry the filament before printing (about 65°C for 4 hours) and keep it in a dry box during long prints.
Which reel size should I buy?
Start with a 250 g or 500 g spool to validate your profile and the part, then scale to 1 kg for production. Pick the reel size in the buy-box; price scales with the spool (250 g $125, 500 g $175, 1 kg $395).
How does PEI+GF30 compare to PEEK or unfilled PEI?
PEI+GF30 offers a very high 217°C glass transition and a 212°C deflection temperature with excellent stiffness from the glass fiber and inherent flame retardancy. Unfilled PEI is tougher and less brittle; PEEK offers even higher continuous-use temperature and chemical resistance. We'll help you choose.
Can it be steam-cleaned or autoclaved?
Yes — PEI has long-term hydrolytic stability, which makes it well suited to steaming and autoclaving. That, plus its dimensional stability, is why it's popular for medical and semiconductor fixtures.
Is it flame retardant?
Yes. PEI is inherently flame-resistant without added halogenated flame retardants, and it maintains a stable dielectric constant and dissipation factor across a wide temperature and frequency range — useful for aerospace and electrical parts.
What's the largest reel available?
This grade is stocked in 250 g, 500 g, and 1 kg reels (1.75 mm, Natural). The 1 kg reel is the largest standard size; for higher volumes or a standing order, contact us and we'll quote case pricing.
Can Rev1 help qualify PEI+GF30 for my application?
Yes. Tell us the temperature, chemistry, stiffness, and loads and our materials team confirms fit, suggests print settings, and can quote case or standing-order pricing. Call (248) 707-2950.
