The easy filament — done properly.
PLA is the material almost everyone starts with, and for good reason: it prints low and slow-warping on any machine, needs no enclosure, and leaves a clean surface. ecoMax PLA is 3DXTech’s premium take — blended in the USA from 100% virgin NatureWorks biopolymer resin (a plant-derived polymer) and premium colorants, so the color is consistent and the print behaviour is predictable across the whole spool. It’s famous for being perfectly suited to practically every desktop printer family: Prusa, Bambu, Ender/Creality, Ultimaker, FlashForge, LulzBot, MakerGear, Anet, and more. When you want a reliable, good-looking print without fuss, this is the reach-for reel.
Seven honest colors, one consistent formula.
Black, White, Natural, Dark Grey, Reflex Blue, Orange, and True Red.
Every color runs on the same easy PLA profile, so switching shades doesn’t mean re-tuning your printer. Pick the color that suits the part — from stealthy Black to a display-ready True Red — and expect the same clean surface and low-warp behaviour each time.
The numbers behind the reel.
All figures from the 3DXTech ecoMax PLA technical data sheet (TDS Rev 3.0) — see the full TDS for test methods and standards.
Break strength on printed specimens (ISO 527) — solid for a general-purpose PLA.
With a 3,185 MPa flexural modulus (ISO 178) — stiff and stable for everyday parts.
More give than a filled composite (ISO 527) — parts tolerate handling.
A PLA thermal window (DSC) — keep finished parts out of hot cars.
Deflection temperature at 0.45 MPa (ISO 75) — typical for the class.
Standard PLA density (ISO 1183) for predictable weights and flow.
About as easy as 3D printing gets.
These are the vendor’s starting ranges — PLA is forgiving, so most printers run it near stock settings. Confirm against the TDS.
A wide, forgiving window — dial in for your printer and speed.
Prints on a cold or lightly heated bed — adhesive optional on many surfaces.
No heated chamber needed — low warp means open printers are fine.
Any standard brass nozzle — no hardened nozzle required (unfilled PLA).
Keep spools sealed — PLA absorbs some moisture over time and prints best dry.
Prusa, Bambu, Ender, Ultimaker, FlashForge, LulzBot, MakerGear, Anet, and more.
The everyday reach-for reel.
PLA earns its place wherever ease, looks, and low cost lead.
Seven premium shades.
Pick your color in the buy-box — all seven print on the same easy PLA profile.
The everyday default — deep, matte-friendly, hides layer lines.
Clean and bright — ideal for painting, dyeing, or crisp display parts.
Undyed biopolymer — a warm off-white with a subtle translucency.
A refined neutral — professional without going full black.
A deep, saturated blue for branded and display work.
High-visibility warmth — great for safety and prototype parts.
A bold, clean red that reads well on finished parts.
Every color uses the same PLA settings — no re-tuning when you switch shades.
ecoMax PLA also comes in 2.85 mm and 4 kg spools in select colors — ask Rev1 and we’ll set it up.

Standard spool dimensions — confirm it fits your printer.
3DXTech ships ecoMax PLA on consistent, standard reels.
Before you buy, check the outer diameter, width, and center bore against your printer’s spool holder — especially for the 4 kg reel, which is larger than a 1 kg spool. Open the full 3DXTech reel infographic for exact dimensions.

| Heat resistance | Low (Tg 55°C) | Higher | Higher (Tg ~105°C) |
| Toughness | Stiff, moderate impact | Higher impact / ductility | Good impact |
| Enclosure | Not needed | Not needed (PETG) | Recommended |

FAQ
3DXTech ecoMax PLA — Common Questions
What printers does it work with?
Practically all desktop machines — Prusa, Bambu, Ender/Creality, Ultimaker, FlashForge, LulzBot, MakerGear, Anet, and more. If it prints PLA, it prints ecoMax PLA.
What colors are available?
Seven: Black, White, Natural, Dark Grey, Reflex Blue, Orange, and True Red. Pick your color in the buy-box. All run the same easy PLA profile.
Do you carry 2.85 mm or 4 kg reels?
Yes — ecoMax PLA also comes in 2.85 mm and 4 kg spools in select colors. They’re not all in the buy-box, so call (248) 707-2950 or request a quote and we’ll set it up.
What temperatures should I use?
Extruder 190–220 °C and bed 23–60 °C per the vendor. PLA is forgiving — most printers run it near stock settings.
Do I need an enclosure or a special nozzle?
No to both. It’s low-warp, so open printers are fine, and it’s unfilled, so a standard brass nozzle works — no hardened nozzle needed.
Is it really plant-based?
Yes — PLA is a biopolymer derived from plants, and ecoMax uses 100% virgin NatureWorks biopolymer resin.
How strong is it?
Solid for a general-purpose PLA: 56 MPa tensile strength, 115 MPa flexural strength, 8% elongation. For tougher or hotter parts, look at ecoMax Tough PLA, PETG, or ABS.
Is it made in the USA?
Yes — 3DXTech compounds ecoMax PLA in its Grand Rapids, Michigan facility from virgin NatureWorks resin, with a published technical data sheet.
Can Rev1 help me choose?
Yes. Tell us your part and printer and our team confirms the right material, color, and quantity. Call (248) 707-2950.
