The tough, easy-printing nylon workhorse.
AMIDEX Nylon 6-66 is a PA6/66 copolymer engineered by 3DXTech for superior printability and high performance. Nylon is the industry’s go-to engineering-grade thermoplastic worldwide thanks to its excellent mechanical, thermal, and chemical resistance — and this copolymer chemistry makes it noticeably easier to run than a straight PA6 or PA66. It lays down clean, bonds strongly between layers, and comes off the plate as a tough, ductile part rather than a brittle one. If you want a general-purpose nylon that just prints, this is it.

Superior printability, tough copolymer chemistry.
A forgiving nylon that stays ductile, not brittle.
The 6-66 copolymer balances the strength and heat resistance of nylon with the flexibility and ease-of-printing that make parts reliable. With roughly 100% elongation at break, AMIDEX absorbs impact and flexes without snapping — ideal for snap-fits, living hinges, brackets, and functional prototypes that see real handling. It resists chemicals better than many traditional filaments and is abrasion- and wear-resistant, so parts hold up in service.
Strength and toughness, without the fuss.
AMIDEX Nylon 6-66 is built for durable, everyday engineering parts where toughness matters as much as strength. Numbers below are from 3DXTech’s published property chart.
8,700 PSI — strong enough for load-bearing functional parts, jigs, and fixtures.
Stiff enough to hold shape, flexible enough to resist cracking under load.
Exceptional ductility — the copolymer flexes and absorbs impact instead of shattering.
Rigid in bending with a 2,050 MPa flexural modulus — supportive, not floppy.
Holds form well above commodity PLA/PETG — good for warm under-hood and enclosure parts.
Insulative surface resistance per the published chart — standard for the composition.
No special hardware — just dry it first.
These are 3DXTech’s recommended print settings. Because AMIDEX is unfilled, a standard brass nozzle is fine and no heated chamber is needed — but like all nylon it’s hygroscopic, so dry it before printing.
Runs on any hotend that can reach the mid-270°C range — no high-temp hotend required.
A heated bed with a suitable adhesive gives reliable first-layer grip and low warp.
Prints on open-frame machines — no enclosure or heated chamber needed.
Unfilled, so a standard brass nozzle works — no hardened steel required.
No special concerns — run 0.10 mm or higher to suit your surface and speed.
Nylon absorbs moisture; dry the filament and keep it dry for the best surface and strength.
Durable, functional, end-use parts.

From CAD to a tough part that goes into service.
Print functional housings, brackets, gears, and fixtures.
Because it’s tough, chemically resistant, and easy to run, AMIDEX Nylon 6-66 is a natural pick for parts that actually get used — not just prototypes. Its ductility makes it forgiving for snap-fits and living hinges, while its abrasion resistance suits gears, bushings, and shop-floor tooling. It’s the general-purpose nylon you reach for when you don’t need carbon or glass fiber.
Classic engineering black.
AMIDEX Nylon 6-66 ships in a single, purpose-built color: a clean engineering black that hides layer lines and looks the part on functional components. It’s available in 1.75 mm and 2.85 mm on 750 g reels — sized to fit popular automated material systems like the Bambu AMS, Creality CFS, and Anycubic ACE Pro. FAQ
3DXTech AMIDEX Nylon 6-66 — Common Questions
Do I need a special printer for AMIDEX Nylon 6-66?
No. Because it’s an unfilled copolymer nylon, it prints at 255–275°C on any hotend that reaches those temps, with a standard brass nozzle and no heated chamber. A heated bed at 55–70°C and good first-layer adhesion are all you need.
What is a PA6/66 copolymer, and why does it matter?
It’s a nylon made from both PA6 and PA66 chemistries. The copolymer blend keeps the strength and heat resistance of nylon while making it easier to print and more ductile than a straight PA6 or PA66 — so parts are tough and forgiving rather than brittle.
Do I have to dry it before printing?
Yes. Like all nylon, AMIDEX is hygroscopic and absorbs moisture from the air. Dry the filament at 90°C for about 4 hours before printing and keep it in a dry box for the best surface finish and layer strength.
How is it different from CarbonX Nylon6+CF or FibreX Nylon6+GF30?
AMIDEX is the unfilled, general-purpose grade: tougher and more ductile, easier to print, and no hardened nozzle or high-temp hotend needed. The CarbonX (carbon-fiber) and FibreX (glass-fiber) grades are far stiffer but require abrasion-resistant nozzles and higher temps. Choose AMIDEX when you want a tough everyday nylon, not maximum rigidity.
Will the 750 g reel fit my AMS or CFS, and what diameters are available?
It comes in 1.75 mm and 2.85 mm on 750 g reels in black. That 750 g reel is sized to fit popular automated material systems including the Bambu AMS, Creality CFS, and Anycubic ACE Pro — check the reel infographic in the Spool & Reel Specs section against your spool holder to be sure.
Is it made in the USA?
Yes — 3DXTech manufactures AMIDEX Nylon 6-66 at its 68,000 sq ft facility in Grand Rapids, Michigan, with published data and lot traceability.
